#flippingamazing

This past year brought many new changes along with it—graduation, moving, working—the list goes on. When I should have been planning my future, I ran away from making decisions and found solace on an island. When I found myself financial unable to support myself and my horse, I met a girl and her family.

This past summer came with a new lessor for Ax. Watching someone ride my horse, figure him out, and fall in love with him just as I did in the same exact place two years ago felt strange—I learned new things about myself, my horse, and our partnership. I found bravery and I found patience, but as much as Ax’s girl impacted my riding, her whole family impacted me more, and I found my passion.

I can make this long and sappy or I can sum it all up in some of the last words I was told before we parted ways after the summer, “believe in yourself and be true to what you want to do.” That is what has impacted my riding, as well as myself and my dreams, the most this year. For that, and all that “my second family” has done for me, makes them absolutely flipping amazing.
