My first grooming bag post was in 2015, so it is safe to say that a lot has changed since then—except the fact that I have way too much stuff. Yes, I would still be a member of “Hoarders: Grooming Bag Edition” if there was such a thing. I love to see the different tools and products people use on their beloved ponies, so here we go!

Owniversary 4.0

I didn’t have the typical horse shopping experience when I bought Ax. I wasn’t even horse shopping at all—I wasn’t looking for a horse, I was just looking to survive finals of my sophomore year of college. No pre-purchase exam, no assessment of his conformation, nothing. Just a short lease and a signed check.

NAJYRC 2017 | Photography

One of the perks of my job is getting to cover amazing events that I usually only get to watch from my computer screen. I recently attended the show jumping and dressage portions of the North American Junior Young Rider Championships and had a blast watching the talent of riders younger than me jumping fences taller than they are.

Wahl Grooming Tools | Product Review

I’ve been a brush snob ever since my mom and I went to the tack shop to get Angel her first set of grooming tools. Anything that is going to touch my horse’s coat, mane, or tail is carefully selected thanks to a combination of my mom being a hair dresser and growing up owning a sensitive-skinned mare. On top of that, I’ve always loved wood-backed brushes because they simply look pretty.

That said, I was super excited to try out the Wahl grooming tools when I heard they were releasing a handful of the line in a new color. Because of my picky nature, the range of brushes I like is limited and usually pricey, so I am always willing to see how new brushes hold up to my standards. This set was a handful of pleasant surprises.
