TOA Blog Hop 9: Self-Actualization.

Officially halfway through!

Beka from The Owl Approves is hosting an 18 week blog hop, one for every week until her horse’s 18th birthday! I have made it my mission to participate in all 18 hops, so bring it on.

ForBeka

Week nine focuses on “Assuming that your horse has absolutely everything he needs (food, bedding, a warm stall, plenty of blankets, and a pasture mate he neither humps, maims nor gets abused by),  what does your horse need to be the best version of himself?

  • Focus. If Ax took the 50% of the time that he spends being distracted by all the shiny things and the pretty birds and put it towards working on the task at hand, he would be incredible. Not that I don’t think he is now, but I think he has more potential than he can make himself pay attention to use.
  • Ambition. I am not entirely positive that ambition is the exact word I am looking for. He has barely put up a fight at anything I have asked him to do, he is very driven to work, and he wants to please whoever is working with him, but he just dies out after a bit. We will be having an amazing ride and all of the sudden his motivation is out the window and he has checked out. Maybe he just gets bored or maybe he gets tired, but I feel like he could use a little bit more of a fire under his bum to motivate him to put in his all and bring it home.
  • Energy. Because he is just so darn lazy some days.

Nonetheless, I love him just the way he is.

I’ve mentioned before that I am lucky enough to be a member of the Heels Down Magazine Style Team and I interviewed the creator/publisher/editor in chief, Patricia back in December. Personally, I LOVE the digital magazine and this month is extra exciting because…Continue reading “The LOVE Issue – Heels Down Magazine in February”

Week eight said “Let’s share our favorite photos of our stud muffins.  No limit.

No limit? Oh boy. I managed to narrow it down to 25…

I love his derp face.

Snow and hay. That is all he needs in life.

Because that hind leg is stepping under and we worked SO LONG on that.

Aside from the fact that I am on my phone (oops), I love everything about this photo.
087
He is such a ham.

Don’t you want to just squish him?

Casually gazes off into the distance…

He hates me and won’t stop trying to eat my helmet.

Probably the ONLY cantering picture I don’t hate.

He’s even cuter braided.

I love this photo. He looks like such a stud muffin and his head doesn’t look weirdly tiny.

One of my favorites of us.

He is a wannabe dressage horse.

Even though we are slightly behind the vertical, this was one of the first photos that I started seeing a difference in him.
030
If only that other ear was forward.

I love this. I love them. Enough said.
